Freedom Fighters Take A Stand

August 4th 2007 15:25
Despite CAIR's attempts to muzzle scholar Robert Spencer and to intimidate Young America's Foundation (the subject of a recent post), the presentation went on as scheduled, with Spencer not surprisingly receiving several standing ovations from an appreciative crowd.

In the wake of this latest assault on free speech, it appears that CAIR might finally have gone too far. The unindicted co-conspirators will now have to do battle with real champions of the First Amendment, should they decide to pull another power play. Well, something good does come out of every outrage: Announcing the formation of the Legal Project, "to protect researchers and analysts who work on the topics of terrorism, terrorist funding and radical Islam."

Established by the Middle East Forum, a Philadelphia-based think tank, in June, 2007, the Legal Project "is dedicated to safeguarding the democratic liberties afforded by the Constitution to U.S. citizens, namely the rights to free speech and free assembly. The Legal Project protects researchers and analysts working on the topics of terrorism, terrorist funding, Islam, and Islamism against those who seek to silence them through intimidation, defamation, and predatory lawsuits."

Their Mission Statement reads:

The Middle East Forum, a Philadelphia-based a think tank, seeks to define and promote American interests in the Middle East. It defines U.S. interests to include fighting radical Islam, whether terroristic or lawful; working for Palestinian acceptance of Israel; improving the management of U.S. democracy efforts; reducing energy dependence on the Middle East; more robustly asserting U.S. interests vis-à-vis Saudi Arabia; and countering the Iranian threat. The Forum also works to improve Middle East studies in North America.

Thank God there are intelligent minds in America who understand the danger of radical Islam's War on the West, and are courageous enough to take a stand. Unlike self-absorbed politicians, such groups truly serve the interests of the USA and the free world.

Sadly, on a related note, several authors are dealing with libel suits from a Saudi terror apologist, and their publishers have dutifully bowed in dhimmitude.

God bless Dr. Ehrenfeld for her brave stance and her critical work in exposing terrorist financing; too bad Cambridge University Press is incapable of demonstrating the same kind of necessary defiance. Ditto for the so-called mainstream media and the ACLU, who once again prove their stunning hypocrisy.
